TEL GEZER

Canaanite despots, condemned by God
Controlling the Via Maris, ethics ruled by idols
They can’t talk, might makes right

A civil code that disdains rights, you thought you had God on a string
Slaughtering people young and old, the leaders held absolute control
One day judgment came, Gezer was no more

It is the same old sin story, people sin beyond measure
Their sinful state comes before God, The Lord says enough
They never know what hit, they just fall apart and disappear

A word for us, what ever feels good is a death chant
You are never out of God`s view, our questions don’t trouble The Lord
He isn’t negotiating morality, His law stands and what we do will be judged
